Adrián Curiel Rivera, Ph.D.

Doctor in Spanish and Hispanic American Literature from the Autonomous University of Madrid. He has collaborated with articles on literary criticism, reviews and stories in various national and foreign media.

In 1999 he published the book of stories Some children flooded the house; in 2000, in Spain, the first edition of Bogavante (reissued in Mexico in 2008); in 2003 Mercury and other stories and Madrid across(reissued in Argentina in 2008); in 2004 The Yellow Lord; in 2006 the essay Spanish novel and boom Hispanic American, and in 2008 the novel A bocajarro. He has been included in numerous anthologies: The X in the front. New Mexican narrative, Anthology of the Latin American story of the XXI century, Anthology of the current Mexican story and Day of the dead, among others.

He currently works as a researcher at the Peninsular Humanities and Social Sciences Center of the UNAM in Merida, Yucatan, where he performs the Pirates of the Caribbean project in 19th century Spanish-American novels. He is a member of the National System of Investigators.
