Gian Carlo Delgado Ramos, Ph.D.

Economist graduated from UNAM with honorable mention (2001). He did his Master's studies in Political Ecology of Natural Resources, at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​Spain (2004) and PhD in the area of ​​Environmental Sciences, specializing in Socioeconomic, Ethical and Environmental Aspects of Vanguard Technology, in January 2007 by that same university. He is full-time permanent researcher B, attached to the Cities, Management, Territory and Environment program of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Sciences and Humanities of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Has since February 2013 level D of the Primes to the Performance of Full Time Academic Staff (PRIDE) program of the UNAM. He is a member of the National System of Researchers, level 1. He received the Recognition Distinction National University for Young Researchers 2011, in the area of ​​research in Social Sciences.

It has concluded the individual research projects Geoeconomics and the geopolitics of biodiversity (1999-2001), obtaining as a result the publication of a book and several articles; The political ecology of water (2002-2004), obtaining as a result the publication of two books and various articles; The social, ethical and environmental aspects of nanotechnology (2003-2007), resulting in the publication of a book and numerous articles; The uncertainties of science and technology in the 21st century: its social and environmental management, in the Area of ​​Alternatives in the Program of Research the World in the XXI Century of the CEIICH-UNAM, focus on nanotechnology. Two books, several book chapters, three documentaries and articles in professional and popular magazines were published. The continuous editorial work of Mundo Nano is also linked: Interdisciplinary Journal in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.

He was lead author in the group of researchers assigned worldwide for the preparation of Chapter 12 - Human Settlements, Infrastructure and Spatial Planning of the 5th Report on Mitigation of Climate Change of Group III of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and the Council World Meteorology; served as a member of the international evaluating jury of the Katerva prize, 2012; and participated in the IPCC WGIII Expert Review Meeting for AR5.
