Miguel Armando López Leyva, Ph.D.

Miguel Armando López Leyva is a Doctor in Social Sciences with a specialization in Political Science from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (Flacso), Mexico. He holds a Master's degree in Political Sociology from the José María Luis Mora Research Institute, and a degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the UNAM. His line of study is democracy and social movements.

He has published two books of his authorship: "Quality of democracy in Mexico: political participation (2000-2014)", in 2017, and "The crossroads. Between the social protest and the electoral participation (1998) ", in 2007.

He is a member of the register of tutors of the Postgraduate Program in Political and Social Sciences of the UNAM, and professor of the postgraduate course, as well as of the Master's in Political Sociology at the Research Institute Doctor José María Luis Mora. He has directed 11 postgraduate theses and has been a speaker in 58 academic meetings. He was the academic secretary of the IIS from 2011 to 2013.
